Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how LinkBuckets ("LinkBuckets", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile apps, browser extension, and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

LinkBuckets is a link-organization tool that lets you save links and arrange them into buckets across your devices. LinkBuckets is operated from theNetherlands and is available to users worldwide. For the purposes of applicable data protection laws (including the EU GDPR), LinkBuckets is the data controller of the personal data described in this policy.

If you have any questions, contact us at support@linkbuckets.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are stored in hashed form and are never visible to us.
  • Content you save. The links (URLs), titles, notes, tags, buckets, and any other content you add to organize your links.
  • Browser extension. When you click the LinkBuckets extension on a page, it reads that page's URL and metadata (title, description, and preview image) solely to pre-fill the link you're saving. The extension does not track your browsing history or access pages you don't explicitly save.
  • Communications. If you contact us for support or feedback, we collect the information you include, such as your name, email, and message.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as app version, device type, operating system, and general diagnostic or crash data used to keep the Service reliable.
  • Crash and error reports. When the app encounters an error or crash, we collect diagnostic reports (such as the error, a stack trace, app version, and device details) through our error-monitoring provider to help us diagnose and fix problems.
  • Local storage. We store data on your device (for example, your session and app preferences) so the Service works smoothly and remembers you between sessions.

Cookies and tracking

Our website does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We use only the strictly necessary local storage and cookies needed to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.

Purchase information

  • Subscription status. If you purchase LinkBuckets Premium, our payments partner processes your subscription status and transaction identifiers. Your actual payment (card or billing details) is handled directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never receive or store your full payment details.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide, maintain, and sync the Service across your devices.
  • To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
  • To process and manage subscriptions and enforce plan limits.
  • To respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
  • To monitor, debug, and improve performance, reliability, and features.
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you sign up for.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and improve the Service, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent — where required, for example certain optional communications; you may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — where we must process data to comply with the law.

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service, and only as needed:

  • Supabase — hosting, authentication, and database storage for your account and saved content.
  • RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase validation.
  • Bugsnag (SmartBear) — crash and error reporting to help us monitor stability and fix bugs.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play — payment processing for in-app purchases.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal data).

6. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

7. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International data transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, update, port, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. These include rights under the GDPR and, for California residents, the CCPA/CPRA.

  • Access and update. You can view and edit your content directly in the app.
  • Deletion. You can delete your account and associated data from within the app, or by emailing us.
  • Requests. To exercise any right, contact support@linkbuckets.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — in the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), or you may contact the authority in your own country.

10. Children's privacy

LinkBuckets is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Contact us

If you have questions or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your data, email us at support@linkbuckets.com.
